J.C. Moore is the Republican State Representative for District 93, which includes Haysville, Clearwater, Cheney, Viola, and several surrounding communities. His main goal is to restore fiscal responsibility to Kansas, which means managing our resources wisely and investing in our future. His education, teaching experience, and community service have uniquely qualified him to serve Kansas.
J.C. grew up on a farm and oil lease in rural Oklahoma where he spent time developing a love of the outdoors. He received a master’s degree from OSU, a doctorate from KSU, and he has publications and presentations in molecular structure, science education, and professional ethics. He taught physics and chemistry for 38 years, 25 of those at Newman University and Friends University where he served at times as department chair, division chair, faculty president, and as chairman of pre-med, curriculum, and faculty evaluation committees.
He firmly believes that the best investment we can make in our future is to educate our children and young adults. He has served as a YMCA volunteer, adult 4-H leader, cosponsor of a Young Republican chapter, and a Sunday school leader. He has been a judge at science competitions, science bowls, science fairs, and a teacher in summer programs designed to attract students into science and healthcare professions.
J.C. is a member of the American Geophysical Union, the Pachyderm Club, the NRA, and the League of Conservation Voters. He has three children and is committed to making sure Kansas remains a great place for his grandchildren, yours, and for all future generations.
