Bio and History

J.C. Moore has served as the State Representative for District 93, and is now running to be your Senator in District 26.   He feels the Legislature does not represent most Kansas citizens very well, and he would like to change that. His education, teaching experience, and community service have uniquely qualified him to serve as your Senator.

J.C. grew up on a farm and oil lease in rural Oklahoma where he spent time developing a love of the outdoors. He received a master’s degree from OSU, a doctorate from KSU, and he has publications and presentations in molecular structure, science education, and professional ethics. He taught physics and chemistry for 38 years, 25 of those at Newman University and Friends University where he served at times as department chair, division chair, faculty president, and as chairman of pre-med, curriculum, and faculty evaluation committees.

He firmly believes that the best investment we can make in our future is to educate our children and young adults. He has served as a YMCA volunteer, adult 4-H leader, cosponsor of a Young Republican chapter, and as a Sunday school teacher. He has been a judge at science competitions, science bowls, science fairs. He was the director of the Dryfus chemistry camp, and taught in several summer programs designed to attract students into science and healthcare professions.

J.C. is a member of the American Geophysical Union, the Sierra Club, and the League of Conservation Voters. He has three children and nine grandchildren, He is committed to making sure Kansas remains a great place for his grandchildren, yours, and for all future generations.
